New partners this month

This month has been big for humans… not so much for Sybils. 

Over this past month, we’ve seen a significant number of new humans sign up for Passport to gain access to some pretty great partner programs. Here’s whose jumping on the Passport train:

Passport API v1 v2 ✅

We’re in the process of rolling out a new version of the Passport API!

This update both simplifies and adds key functionality to the API, ensuring developers can take advantage of our best-in-class Sybil defense with ease. 

✔ Less API requests to pull user scores
✔ Access to historical scores
✔ More intuitive routes
✔ Simplified developer onboarding
✔ Less Gitcoin, more Passport XYZ in our base URL ;)

Existing partners – no worries. We aren’t planning on retiring v1 of the API anytime soon. You only need to update if you’d like to take advantage of some of the new features.

Stamp weight updates are coming!

Sybil defense in an ever-changing web ecosystem is a constant cat and mouse game. 

Every time we make adjustments to our Stamp offering and weights, we are disrupting Sybils and other bad actors; creating more friction and reducing their chances of gaming the system. This means, they can’t as easily take advantage of the programs that are built for you, the genuine humans of the web. 

We’ve put our data scientists to work, reviewing how effective our Stamp lineup is, and making adjustments to ensure that the 100+ partners who’ve chosen Passport XYZ for Sybil defense are satisfied with the results. 

~Stamp updates are coming before the end of the year~

Don’t worry though! We are making these adjustments less disruptive for Passport holders. 

1. Any Stamps that are changing will still be valid in your Passport until they expire.

2. The 1-click flow will automatically verify Stamps quickly, meaning you won’t have much to update when the changes happen.

Our data scientists are rockstars. With each adjustment, we are focused on how we can make things easier for humans, more difficult for Sybils, and improve the overall effectiveness of the Passport XYZ defense for partners.

GG22, a recap

A massive thank you to the thousands of contributors who donated to Passport XYZ as part of the Developer Tooling and Growing the Gardens rounds during #GG22!

We received the full match amount from the massive Developer Tooling round, and had a great showing with the Growing the Gardens round as well. The results:
